Adam and Kornborn Families
Johann Martin Adam (a master wagon builder) and his first wife had six children according to the Gründau parish records, all born in Niedergründau: Susanna Maria, born 22 September 1749 (died 23 September 1749); Johannes, born 17 March 1751 (died 25 March 1752); twins born on 21 July 1753, Johann Michael (died 21 July 1753), and Johann Conrad (died 27 July 1753); Anna Catharina, born 16 January 1755 (died 31 July 1758); and Johannes, born 28 July 1758 (died 19 August 1761). Johann Martin's first wife died (date unknown) and he married Marianne Halde, daughter of Christian Halde, on 21 January 1762. The baptisms of two sons are recorded in the Gründau parish records. The baptism of the first son, Peter Ludwig, born 5 June and baptized 9 June 1762, states that Marianne was pregnant when the couple married and the father of the child is unknown. The second son was Georg Martin, born 2 November and baptized 4 November 1764. The couple and their two children arrived in Russia on 9 August 1766. Johann Martin Adam died during the journey to the villages, and Marianna married Joseph Korbon. The combined Korbon-Adam family is reported on the Norka First Settler's List in Households #62 and #62a.
