Heinrich Burbach
Heinrich Burbach was born on March 25, 1839 in Norka, the son of Nicolaus Burbach (1804-1848) and Anna Maria Müller (1810).
Heinrich was first married about 1864. His first wife's name is not known. She died about 1875. At least two children, Heinrich (1865) and Catharina (1875) were born from this marriage.
Heinrich married a second time to Maria Catharina Heckman. She died on October 2, 1892. At least three children were born from this marriage and survived into adulthood.
Heinrich married a third time to Elisabeth Sauer (1871) on June 9, 1894 in Norka. They had at least five children.
As a young man, Heinrich lived in the city of Saratov and worked as a machinist at the Schmidt Mill. In 1882, Heinrich had earned enough money to move back to Norka and build a home and machine shop. He was commonly known by the Spitznamen of Schmier Busen or Bosom Burbach (greasy chest Burbach) which was likely due to the appearance of his clothing while working as a machinist.
