Margaretha Reiswig
Conrad Reuswig (Reiswig), son of Andreas Reuswig, was born March 4, 1716, and baptized March 6, 1716, in Neuenhasslau (Niedermittlau Parish). On April 21, 1740, he married Anna Margaretha Sell, daughter of Michael Sell, in Rothenbergen (Gründau Parish). Anna Margaretha Sell was born in Rothenbergen and baptized March 14, 1717. The baptisms of their six children were recorded in the Gründau parish records: Catharina (December 14, 1742), Michael (January 24, 1746), Catharina (April 19, 1748), Johann Peter (February 3, 1751), Johann Heinrich (May 17, 1756), and Johann Peter (October 14, 1760). Conrad and Anna Margaretha arrived in Oranienbaum, Russia on August 9, 1766 aboard the Russian ship "Slon" (Elephant) with five of their children and with many other families that would settle in Norka almost one year later. Conrad and one of his sons, Michael, must have died during the trip to the lower Volga, because Anna Margaretha is recorded as a widow on the Norka 1767 census and she is living with only four of her children.
