Marie Miller Olson
Marie Miller Olson and her twin sister Anna Miller Reisbick compiled a wonderful booklet titled Norka: A German Village in Russia in 1981. The booklet was one of the first efforts to research the people of Norka and is an excellent source of information. The booklet was revised in 1986 and is available for purchase from AHSGR.
Marie was a native of Denver and graduated from the University of Denver Library School in 1940. After graduation, she worked in the Western History Dept of Denver Public Library. She married a career Army officer, Clarence Olson, and traveled extensively. Marie helped establish the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, serving on the International Board of Directors for 20 years and as President of the Society Foundation for one year.
Marie Miller Olson died at age 95 on February 28, 2006.
