Sandra Lee Lehl Ancestors
Below is a summary of the ancestral line from Friedrich Lehl (Löhl) to Sandra Lee Lehl.
Friedrich Lehl (1716-1775) accepted the offer of Catherine the Great's Manifesto to start a new life in Russia. Friedrich worked as a shoemaker in the county of Isenburg and practiced the Reformed faith. In the spring of 1766, Friedrich was a widower. His two children, Konrad Ernst (age 18) and Sibilla (age 19) would travel with him to their new home on the lower Volga River near the frontier town of Saratov.
Sailing from the port of Lübeck, the Lehl's arrived in Oranienbaum, Russia (near St. Petersburg) on August 29, 1766. The journey to the lower Volga was to be nearly one year in length.
The Lehl's were among the founders of Norka arriving on August 26, 1767 (Household 186). Shortly after his arrival in Norka, Friedrich married Anna Justina Burbach, the widow of Heinrich Burbach. Anna Justina's maiden name is unknown. Heinrich Burbach died during the journey to Norka. In 1767, Anna Justina was living in Household 185, next-door to the Lehl's, with her two sons, Johannes (age 18) and Lorenz (age 14).
Friedrich's son, Konrad Ernst Lehl (1748-1841), married Anna Magdalena Rothau (born about 1755) and the Lehl lineage continues from Konrad Ernst and Anna Magdalena to Sandra Lee Lehl as shown below:
